This week your storefront got a choice of designs. Changing the look of a shop shouldn't put its products, orders or settings at risk, so a theme changes appearance and nothing else.
New this week
Storefront themes
Pick the overall design of your shop under Content → Storefront Theme. Two themes to start: Classic, the original Kaniva storefront, and Modern Industrial, a bolder design for manufacturers and enthusiast brands.
- Nothing changes unless you choose a new theme. Every store stays on Classic until it does
- Preview a theme privately; customers see your live store until you press Activate
- Each theme remembers its own settings, and you can switch back any time
- Homepage sections carry over, drawn in the new theme's style, and can be set to show on one theme only
- Your colour, font, logo and banner controls are now under Content → Colours & Fonts and apply to whichever theme is active
Modern Industrial styles every page
Modern Industrial now draws the whole storefront: catalogue and filters, categories, blog, custom pages, account and order pages, downloads, support tickets and bookings. That includes the pages customers reach from an email, like paying a balance or an invoice, tracking a shipment, confirming a booking or leaving a review.
Better links and images
- Shared blog posts now show their featured image in the preview on Facebook, X, LinkedIn and messaging apps
- Blog posts and custom pages now give search engines their description and sharing details
- Stores on their own web address load their images from that address, so pages are a little faster and share links show your own domain
Smaller things that add up
- Single-product landing pages load for every product, use your own colours and fonts, and show review text
- Customers can pick a star rating on the review form they reach from a review-request email
- Confirming a booking that was since cancelled shows a short note with a link to book again
- Download problem pages (an expired link or a used-up limit) are properly styled
- Reports → Product Sales shows each product's Part Number in the SKU column, on screen and in the export
