With real orders coming in, this week mixed new tools for the workshop with a careful pass over checkout.
New this week
Sub-assemblies in the workshop
When a part in a product's bill of materials has its own bill of materials, a work order can create a work order for that sub-assembly too.
- Pick which sub-assemblies to make when you create the job
- Choose how they relate: separate jobs, started together with the main job, or finished before the main job can start
- The main job shows progress ("2/3 completed"), and the printed work order lists its sub-jobs
See who visits your store
Analytics shows page views, visitors, where they came from and what devices they use, by day, week or month, with product and category names rather than web addresses. It uses no cookies, so there's no consent banner to add.
Emails and error pages that look like your store
- Every order, shipping and password email has a fresh design with your logo and colours, and reads better on phones
- "Page not found" and error pages use your branding, and you can write their messages in Settings → Error Pages
A steadier checkout
- One payment always makes one order, however many times the button is pressed
- Customers who already have an account can sign in during checkout
- Shipping rates stay valid when a customer goes back and forth
- The billing address saves correctly when "Same as shipping" is ticked
Security and reliability
A routine security review found and fixed several issues. Sign-in and the newsletter form are now better at keeping bots out, and your contact email can be changed in your settings.
