Purchase orders that bend when plans change

Purchase orders can now be edited line by line after they're created, cancelling one no longer loses your list, and built items can be bought as their raw materials.

A short week focused on buying stock. Each change came from the everyday mistakes of ordering parts: a forgotten item, a cancelled order, a finished part you really need to build yourself.

New this week

Add or remove items on an existing purchase order

Forgot something? On Edit PO, add another item with its quantity and cost, or tick Remove next to a line to drop it. Totals update when you save.

  • Lines already received can't be removed
  • A line's quantity can't go below what has already arrived

Cancel a purchase order without losing your list

When you cancel a purchase order, Kaniva asks whether to put the items that haven't arrived back on the purchase list, ready to order again. If 3 of 10 were already received, the other 7 go back.

Buy the raw materials for a built item

Adding an item with a Bill of Materials to the purchase list now asks whether you want the finished item or its components. Choose components and Kaniva works all the way down through sub-assemblies, adding each raw material in the right quantity.
