A big building week. Stores got the tools to tell their own story, and everything a customer sees started saying the store's name instead of Kaniva's.
New this week
A blog for every store
Write posts with a simple editor, add a featured image, and sort posts by category and tag.
- Drafts and published posts
- A search title and description for each post
- Reading time and related posts on every post
Build your own menus
Choose what goes in your header and footer menus: your pages, your blog, the cart, or links to other sites. Drag to reorder, and switch an item off without deleting it.
Sale prices
Add a Compare At Price and the product shows as on sale everywhere: the old price struck through, the new price in red, and a "Save 20%" badge worked out for you.
Your staff can help run the store
Staff accounts can now sign in to the admin and work on orders, products, categories, customers and inventory. Settings stay with owners and admins.
A media library
Upload images by button or drag and drop, see them all in one grid, and copy a link to use anywhere in your store.
Your store's name everywhere
- Order, shipping and refund emails go out under your store's name, and replies come to you
- Page titles show your store's name
- PayPal shows your store's name at checkout
Smaller things that add up
- Search products by name or part number, and filter by category, status and type
- Edit a shipping or billing address from the order page, with missing addresses shown in red
- Products sold by the pair, set or kit show that on the order ("2 pairs")
- Counters in the menu for open orders and customers waiting for a call back
- The orders list hides abandoned checkouts, so you only see orders that were paid
- Tidier page numbers on long lists
- An Edit Homepage link on the dashboard
- Send the Kaniva team a feature request, bug report or question from inside the admin, and follow its progress
- Checkout, sign-in and admin pages work fully on a store's own web address
What's next
Dealer and wholesale pricing, guest checkout, refunds straight to the card, and work orders for the workshop.
