The busiest week so far. The Kaniva team worked on both ends of the business: how customers pay, and how the workshop builds what they ordered.

New this week

Dealer and wholesale pricing

Give a customer group its own discount ("Dealers get 15% off"), or set a fixed price for a group on a single product. Customers always get the best price they qualify for.

  • Call it what you like: Dealer, Wholesale, Trade, Builder
  • A badge on the product page shows the special price, with the regular price struck through if you want
  • Leave a product out of group pricing altogether
  • Choose whether a discount code adds to group pricing or the customer simply gets the better of the two

Refunds that reach the customer's card

Refund an order and the money goes back through Stripe or PayPal, not just in your records. Refund part of an order, note why, and email the customer if you choose.

Work orders for the workshop

  • Create a work order straight from an order line, with the customer and options filled in
  • Print a one-page work order with a barcode, steps and check boxes
  • Assign each job to someone on your team
  • List the steps to build a product, with times, and track each step as the job moves
  • Orders and their work orders link to each other

Checkout that suits more customers

  • Guest checkout: customers can buy without making a password, and set one later if they want
  • New customers confirm their email with a short code before paying, so orders come with a real address
  • The variant picker makes it clear which options still need choosing and which are sold out

Moving from another platform

Add URL Redirects so old links from your previous site still land on the right page. Each redirect counts its visits, and you can switch one off without deleting it.

Shipping that gets the address right

When you make a label, Google Maps suggests a corrected address if a street is misspelled, side by side with the carrier's suggestion. One click applies it.

  • Works on the shipping station too
  • Print to thermal label printers in their own format
  • Orders mark themselves complete when every box has a label

Smaller things that add up

  • The dashboard shows orders waiting to be shipped and a monthly sales goal chart
  • Free Shipping on a product, and a shipping surcharge that adds to the calculated rate
  • Two announcement banners, each with its own colours
  • A "Latest Blog Posts" block for the homepage
  • The "In Stock" badge only shows for products whose stock you actually track
  • All your shipping carriers now show at checkout, not just one
  • Packing slips show part numbers and units correctly

What's next

Purchase orders, an Accounting add-on, and receipts you can snap with your phone.
