This week brought customers, the counter and the shipping bench closer together: who your customers are, how they shop on their phones, and what happens when an order doesn't all ship at once.
New this week
A CRM for your customers and deals
A new CRM section keeps the people behind your orders in one place.
- Contacts and Companies, with notes
- Deals moving through your own sales stages
- Tickets for support, Tasks with due dates, and a log of calls, emails and meetings
Ship part of an order
- A new Partially Shipped status, shown to you and your customer, for orders sent in more than one box
- Each line on the order shows what's shipped, what's packed and which box it's in ("1 of 2 shipped")
- Quick Ship on each box opens the shipping station ready to go
- Supplier-shipped items get Mark as Shipped with the supplier's tracking, and never go into your own stock
- The order completes only when every box and every supplier shipment has gone
A storefront built for phones
- A menu button and a slide-out category list, with the cart count beside it
- Compact sorting and page numbers that fit a small screen
- Full-width hero images on the homepage, which can link anywhere
Addresses that fill themselves in
Start typing an address at checkout and Google suggests it, filling in city, state and ZIP. Kaniva then checks the address and offers a "Did you mean?" if a street looks misspelled. Browsers can also fill in saved addresses.
Smaller things that add up
- Set your store's neutral and status colours, or pick a preset
- Edit variant names and colours right on the product page, and Save Product saves your variants too
- Work orders complete themselves when their order ships
- Password reset pages carry your logo and store name
- Product images load as customers scroll, so pages open faster
- Shipping rates update when a customer changes their address
What's next
Shipping abroad, local pickup and delivery, and a setup checklist for new stores.
